The Alumni Memorial Prayer Garden honours those who have died while studying or working at Avondale College of Higher Education. It also recognises the soon return of the Life Giver, Jesus Christ.
The memorial is made of a steel alloy that forms a patina of rust. Architect David Stafford designed the memorial to become more beautiful with age.
Avondale Alumni invites the families or friends of alumni who have died while studying or working at Avondale to purchase plaques.
A plaque measures 300 millimetres in length, 70 millimetres in width and three millimetres in height. It is etched with the given and family name of an Avondale alumnus, and the alumnus’ years as a staff member of student at Avondale.
The plaques are placed on the memorial and the names on the plaques recorded in an Alumni Memorial Prayer Garden Register.
